iPhone 4, version 4.3.5, using Gevey to unlock, how to update to 5.0.1?

Unlocked: Gevey

OK, as you can see my iPhone is jailbroken, and I am using Gevey to unlock it. Should I update it to 5.0.1 and how? I want to make sure my iPhone will remain unlocked with Gevey card. Surely, if there is some other way to unlock it, it would be even better.

However, you need to download the official 5.0.1 firmware for you iPhone 4 in step 1 from here http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/04...5_Restore.ipsw

Then follow the step-by-step in that thead.

I forgot to mention one very important detail. My iPhone was locked to Bell Mobility in Canada, and I am using it overseas unlocked with Gevey card. The problem is that after I update it to 5.0.1 it may ask for SIM activation, and I can't activate it because I don't have Bell Mobility SIM card right now.

Does it make sense?
