Does Redsn0w update baseband?

Have been looking around for this question.
Will Redsn0w update my iPhone's baseband? I want to keep my current baseband (already updated to 5.0.1) to unlock using Gevey. This is referring to the just-released Redsn0w 10b1 "jailbreak" option for the new untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak. Will this work?

I am asking because I used 10b1 to build a custom IPSW and restored to it thru iTunes (with "NO BB" file). Baseband was preserved and Gevey works properly, but no Cydia shows. Wanting Cydia, not sure if my device is already jailbroken.

No , redsn0w won't touch your baseband, just jailbreak with latest redsn0w to get untethered jailbreak.

Make sure u page through ur apps at the end to find it...it may show up as white...mine did...had to cold boot to get it to work..
