Ok, stupid question I should know the answer to, but I am having a blonde brain fart. Bought an iPhone 4 several months back with 4.1 installed. Never been jb'd. When I jb it, I only had the shsh for 4.3.5, but thanks to ifaith, I now have the shsh for 4.1. I upgraded to 5.0.1 last night using custom ipsw made with redsn0w and didn't upgrade the baseband. My baseband right now is 02.10.04. I saved my shsh and ap ticket for 5.0.1. I should be able to downgrade back to 4.1 with no problems, correct? Or would it have mattered if I upgraded baseband (if iOS 5 upgrades it)? Either way I would be using a custom ipsw to downgrade. I am just wondering because since the update, everything seems to work normally, but I consistently only show one bar of service, even though reception and data use seem normal. Thanks for any replies.
If you are not using gevey sim to unlock , then you should restore to stock 5.0.1 to upgrade your baseband to get a higher bar signals. You can always downgrade back using cfw without any issue with your saved blob.
