Hey guys. I have an iPhone 4 on 4.1 jb with limera1n. I want to restore and update to 5.0.1 Steps I have taken so far.
1. Put phone in DFU mode
2. Opened up tinyumbrella v5.10.01 and started TSS sever.
3. Opened up Itunes 10.5.2.11 and clicked restore.. then restore and update.
4. Error 2005.
5. looked up online what code was and it said I should try another USB port. tried all 3 on my dell xps16. None of them would remove the error.
6. So as of now I have taken my phone out of DFU mode for daily use.
I tried that first and I got a code 3194 I believe. Then I googled that and read use tinyumbrella. So I used TU and now I am getting error 2005. I have used 3 different USB's and all 3 ports on my computer. I will try another computer.
Reinstall your itunes to the latest, you must let apple verify your 5.0.1 restore . You can set your hosts file back to apple in the option of tiny umbrella and restore either from homescreen or recovery mode to 5.0.1, not dfu mode.
Tried to restore on another computer and got 1604 error. following guide online and trying again.
now my phone is stuck in recovery mode.
Edit: used ireb to get out of recovery mode loop.
But still can't get past 1604 error. Tried removing the software update file and 2 more. But no luck.
Any advice?

Error 3194 can be fixed by editing your hosts file to see cydia's server. I have never successfully used TSS on TU, I've always edited the host file directly. Try that, restart iTunes Shift+Restore. If you still get error 200x, try putting your phone in pwned dfu mode via redsn0w. Then Shift+Restore and your all set.
tried all of the above.. still no luck. cant get past 2005 error in dfu mode. and if im in recovery mode cant get past 1604 error.
if I am in dfu mode and using TU(tried to edit host file and got the same error) this is what the log gets:

I need help as well. I been on this Error 2005 prob for like 4 hours already. I'm trying to Downgrade my AT&T iphone 4 on IOS 5 w/ BB 4.11.08 to IOS 4.3.5 to get to the unlockable BB 4.10.01. I'm using itunes 10.4.1. On Windows Vista 32 and running admin.
I really hope this can be done and I hope the 2005 is the only wall I could hit to getting there. Until then, this must be done.
Methods Done;
on DFU mode>TU (to get rid of 3194)> then this error.
I have tried switching around two original USB cords and switching different ports (3).
No luck. I haven't yet tried on another computer. I really hope that could work or maybe apple is just blocking this method I'm trying 2 do.
Please help guys.
