    Default A5 Devices - iOS 5.0.1 Safe?

Hello there all. First post on this site. I've done a lot of research on this subject but can't seem to find a definitive answer on the subject. I have an iPad 2 (that I got on 4.3.4, gutted) and an iPhone 4S. After the blissful jailbreak experience I'm eager to make sure I'm ready for the jailbreaks once pod2g or another team releases them but at the moment, I'm hesitant about updating. I would assume it would be logical that 5.0.1 would be the iOS that is being worked on at the moment but I'd rather not risk it.

I'm curious if anyone knows if updating is safe and if they could cite their source. Among other things I'd like to see if the update solves my battery issues (50/50 on the chances I know) but I'd also like to reenable smart cover unlocking without fear of people circumventing my password. The jailbreak prospect though is the more important issue to me as I simply turn cover unlocks off and my phone is almost always docked at home to hooked up to my car when I'm on the move.

If anyone would be so kind as to clear this up and if possible cite your source for reassurance, I'd be most grateful.

Could you show me your source for that? All I've found is A4 devices that are confirmed on 5.0.1. No A5.

I've gone through the blog but nowhere does it state that the A5 Jailbreak is for 5.0.0 or 5.0.1. The only safety notice I've heard has been for A4 iDevives. This is where the main source of confusion comes in. :/

+1, sitting at 4.3.4 is not going to do you any good. Restore to 5.0.1 and wait for the release.

Both my 4S and my iPad 2 are presently on 5.0.0. I hadn't considered that 5.0.0 might not get a released JB even though its already been proven that it would work. I'm just paranoid cos I've not heard the green light for 5.0.1 from any confirmed sources. Just word of mouth and assumptions.

Okay, I'm now re-assured by an indirect confirmation of sorts from Pod2G.

If 5.0.1 was bad for the jailbreak, he wouldn't bother telling A5 and A4 users that 5.0.2 is bad.
