Default iOS update keep old apps?

First post here. I jailbroke my iPhone 4 a few months ago with relative ease. I used redsn0w. My firmware is ios 4.3.5. I want to upgrade to iso 5. I'm pretty sure you just do the regular Apple software update in iTunes and it reverts back to how it was before jailbreaking (with apple upgrades of course). I would jailbreak again using the correct redsn0w. My question. Will all my apps and tweaks/mods disappear from the original jailbreak? This must have been addressed before. Please direct my to there or help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your tweaks will be erased and will need to be redownloaded. However, your apps can be backuped on iTunes. Go into iTunes and right click on your device and choose "Transfer Purchases" and also do "Back up". This will transfer your apps to your iTunes and your device settings and app data. After you update your device will appear brand new; transfer the apps back, restore from backup, sync if need-be, rejailbreak, download your tweaks.

There are jailbreak apps tht allow you to save and reload your cydiapakges (like pkgbackup) but they are basically useless when upgrading from 4.x to 5.x because many of the 4.x packages are not compatible
