    Default upgrade from 4.2.1 to 5 now or can i wait?

    Hi all. got an iphone 4 on 4.2.1 Can i wait to see if the UT jailbreak comes out to update or do I need to update soon to save any info that I may need?

    Then u can go the ifaith way.. First dump shsh using ifaith for 4.2.1 and make a signed ipsw with the shsh.
    Then update to 5.0.1 . Again dump shsh using ifaith , Make a signed 5.0.1 ipsw .. Keep both ipsw safe.

    Put the phone in pwned dfu. Restore to 4.2.1 using the signed ipsw you made. You will be back to 4.2.1 without any error.

    Like this you won't have to worry about not being able to update to 5.0.1 incase apple releases 5.1 before untethered is out.

    Verizon iPhone 4.2.6 jailbroken, if I do what u described above will I have redo all cydia an iTunes apps? Basically will updating to 5.0.1 wipe everything currently on phone? Thanks!

    Yeah it will wipe . You can backup In iTunes and pkgbackup but a fresh restore is recommended,
