Question about iPhone 4s jailbreak

I was under the impression that there is no iPhone 4s jailbreak available but I just read an article from lifehacker talking about adding Siri features if your iPhone 4s is jailbroken. Here's the article http://m.lifehacker.com/5868513/make-siri-change-your-iphone-4s-settings-read-battery-level

They have an untethered jailbreak working on now for iPhone 4. As far as the iPhone 4s there is nothing yet but working on it as we speak.

Adding features to siri is possible without a jailbreak, it's called SiriProxy, and works on the 4s (:

I didn't know about Siri proxy. I've been doing some research and I noticed a plugin called room control plugin where Siri can turn your lights on and off change thermostat and turn on fan. How is this possible. Wouldn't these electronics (fan, lights, thermostat) need some adapter i have to buy that Siri needs to communicate with?

Yes they will need parts for siri to do that, and all the work is done over siriProxy, which is how the first siri home automation was done

I read your iPhone doesn't have to be jailbroken to use Siri proxy and also where can I find a guide to setting up room controller plugin with the parts I need to buy?

Siriproxy requires you to be connected to a preconfigured wifi network. It isnt worth going to the trouble of setting up because you can bypass all that when a jailbreak is available.
