iPod Touch 4g iOS 5.0 bricked (Need help please)
Let me get started;
I recently restored from a backup from Aug 29, 2011 , and then after it was done restoring, it was working fine. 20 minutes later, it booted to safe mode. Not panicing, i restarted springboard, only to find out safe mode opening up again. At this point, i was nervous. I looked up on google how to fix this continious safemode rebooting and somebody told me to uninstall mobile substrate and all the packages associated with it uninstall aswell. So i did that and it removed like 2 themes, dreamboard, winterboard, etc. after i uninstalled it, the screen turned all dark and the loading circle thing came up. Of couse, i have tethered jailbreak, so that doesnt make it any better. I tried to retether it, no luck, it just takes me back to the loading circle. i tried many methods, and i tried putting in DFU mode and restoring, but im getting error 3194. Please somebody help me, i will be very thankful. thanks in advance!

You cannot restore to 5.0 anymore and you do not need to use custom firmware. Just restore to OFW5.0.1 and do your jailbreak with redsn0w0.9.9b8 but browse to 5.0 to get a tethered jailbreak for now. Untethered jailbreak is around the corner.

You need to set your hosts file back to apple server by the settings within tiny umbrella under advance tab. Don't use Tiny umbrella for your restore.

All IOS 5 restore needs to be verified by apple, run tiny umbrella, go to adv tab : uncheck > set hosts file to cyida , close it.
Now do your restore to stock 5.0.1

I followed those instructions, and tried restoring, and it told me you would have to restore and update, but i did it anyways. A messagecame up saying "The iPod Cannot be restore at this time because the iPod software could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable."
any idea?
