Cant Fix 3194
I am on 3GS new bootrom 4.3.3 and Wanted to Update to iOS 5 Tethered. I downloaded custom IPSW for that, But every time I try doing it, I get 3194 errors. For once I tried with TSS active server and then too I got 2005 Errors.
I tried Every Possible Method. Editing Hosts file adding deleting gs.apple.com related values. However, with no result. irep 4 TinyUmbrella too. And ya everything is latest weather its ireb, tiny-umbrella or iTunes Latest.
I really want to update as untethered iOS 5. Apparently is just around the corner.
Please Help me out.

at host ,edit (delete) gs.apple.com
in the line 127.0.0.1 write localhost after that number it will look like this 127.0.0.1 localhost
then reboot your pc and try it again , you have to reboot after you make the change it

Use ireb to prep the device and make sure u are going to 5.0.1 custom ipsw if u don't have shsh for the device and make sure u don't have apples servers bypassed "editing ur host file" u will get that error if u have it edited

Hi - I'm having the same Error 3194 problem, and I'll be brutally honest, but the 2 replies above, I do not for the life of me understand at all. Could someone please tell me step by step what to do as if I'm a 4 year old kid? The only thing I was able to do on my Windows Vista laptop was to add Ports 80 & 443 on firewall and I disabled my security software then it went above my head (oh, I have an iPhone 4 GSM 4.3.3 04.10.01 Model MC610LL) please please help me! Thank you!

I guess you are trying 5.0 . It's not signed any more so u can't go to 5.0 . You need 5.0.1 ..
