Best method for Jailbreaking 3G 4.2.1 with Baseband 05.15.04
Hello all,
I've been Googling and looking around the site and have seen a few different methods. Want to confirm what I need to do and what's the best method and some things I have found are two years or a year old and didn't know if a newer method exists or not.
I'm mostly concerned about a baseband unlock for my 3G running 4.2.1 with BB 05.15.04.
Basically, my understanding is that I need to upgrade the baseband to 06.15.00 then use Ultrasnow 1.2 to unlock.
Is this correct? Or can I upgrade the baseband and then use the tutorial on this site to jailbreak and it will also baseband unlock?
Thank you for your time.

Me and you are on the same page, but i can't use fuzzyband to downgrade because my bootloader version is 06.04. Anybody know what i need to do? I try to upgrade my BB to 6.15.00 but when i jailbreak with redsnow it doesn't give me that option. (3G on 4.2.1)

Because you are using a 3G not 3GS. I don't believe the iPad baseband will work on a 3G unless that has changed recently.

It may I've personally never needed to use this option on any of my iPhones. I always kept an unlockable baseband (3G and 3GS days) with my latest 4 and 4s I just bought unlocked. plus it just causes more headaches than what it's worth with the gps loss, battery drain, custom firmwares etc it's just easier to buy unlocked if you need it that bad.
