help going from 4.1 to 5.0

im sure this is somewhere in the thousands of threads but im not finding it by searching. i just bought an iphone 4 with 4.1 on it and jailbroke.
i want to upgrade it to 5.0 and do the semi untethered on it but ive never done an upgrade outside of just using itunes to do it so im stumped on
what to do without messing anything up. can anyone either walk me threw it or post a link to the right thread or something to help please???

Update itunes to the latest and hit restore to take you to 5.0.1. You can't go to 5.0 as apple isn't signing 5.0

You would have to go to 5.0.1 apple not signing 5.0 anymore. To update to 5.0.1 you would have to restore to that do just sync ya phone and update.

No, there is hope. Untethered jailbreak will be at 5.0.1 too.

I upgraded to 5.0 then rolled back to 4.2.1, Tiny Umbrella has my 5.0 saved so can I go back to 5.0?

ok so i lied. got another question. just tried doing an update to 5.0.1 and keep getting error 3194. ive got 10.5.1 itunes. even uninstalled and reinstalled. tried restoring, tried updating, tried throwing the iphone into dfu and still get this same error. any ideas??

Run tiny umbrella if you have it installed and make sure set hosts file to cydia is unchecked. Restore to 5.0.1 through the normal restore with itunes

unchecked and still getting same error. heres whats still checked...save all avail shsh, request shsh from cydia, overwrite existing shsh, and when connecting a device prefer my custom device name...
