    Default Help getting to ios5

Hi I'm been trying to update my JB ATT iphone 4 to ios 5 from 4.2.1 on my MBP running up to date Lion and iTunes with what seems like a different error every time I try. With today's announcement of a future untethered jb coming soon I decided to make the plunge into stock ios and just wait for the untether to jb again. I don't care about being able to unlock in the future I just need to be able to jb when the untether jb becomes available.

I try to do the following

downloaded 5.0 fw, redsnow and tiny umbrella
get phone in pwnd dfu mode w/ redsnow 0.9.9b8
run TSS server via TU with "Set hosts to cydia on Exit" UNCHECKED
restored to stock fw via itunes using option>restore method
    get "error 1600"

    followed by trying...

running TSS server via TU with "Set hosts to cydia on Exit" CHECKED
restoring to stock fw via itnues using opton>restore method
    and get same "error 1600"

also tried not running TU and just using the option>restore method
and get "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" error

    followed by trying...

MANUALLY configuring hosts file to comment out 74.208.10.249 & 127.0.0.1 and even without commenting the two out.
    flushed dns
    restarted TU and itunes
    still get "1600"

    followed by trying

NOT putting the phone in pwnd DFU mode
running TSS server via TU with "Set hosts to cydia on exit" CHECKED
restoring to stock fw via itnues using opton>restore method
THIS time itunes will put iphone in recovery mode but will stay at "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple"
    till it returns "error 1604"

also tried the same but "Set hosts to cydia on exit" UNCHECKED and the same "error 1604" comes up

As you can imagine this is VERY frustrating does anyone have any suggestions before I shoot my face off.

You let apple verify your 5.0.1 restore. You don't use any of the tool to verify your restore.

I was under the impression that I had to update to ios 5 to "Use iFaith and save your APticket for iOS 5.0." before I went to 5.0.1?

Also I accidentally posted this thread twice, the other one can be closed sorry about that.

If you haven't used ifaith to save 5.0, you can't do it now. Just update to 5.0.1 by letting apple verify your restore and use ifaith to save your blob. Untethered jailbreak will be at 5.0.1 too so you need not worry.
