Trying to restore my iPhone back to iOS 5, need help.
Ok so I needed to do a clean restore on my iPhone, which was on 5.0 jailbroken at the time. Now I'm trying to use a custom Sn0wbreeze 5.0 firmware because I need to preserve my baseband. But everytime I do the shift restore on iTunes I get the either the error 3194 or 3014. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried editing the Hosts file and unchecking the box that says "Set Host to Cydia on Exit", but that doesn't work either.

Is your iOS 5 a tethered jailbreak ?

well for the time being, you cant go to 5.0 because what you are trying to do is not supported at the moment, but it is without preserving the baseband... the reason that you are getting these errors is because Apple is not signing 5.0 anymore, and since the SHSH blobs cant be saved like they used to, you cant just restore.....
now if you didnt need to preserve your baseband you could get iFaith 1.4 from iH8sn0ws website and dump your blobs, then use iFaith to create a signed .ipsw and then restore.... allowing you to jailbreak with redsn0w.... i could be wrong at some point in the first paragraph... we will se though
ahh. yeow you beat me to it.... *walks away without another word on post*

Oh okay, well how do I jailbreak 5.0.1 and preserve the baseband? Is that possible? I don't mind if it's tethered or not.
And if I could use the iFaith program to use a signed restore, could I still use Redsn0w's option to use the iPad baseband? That's what I've been using this whole time.Last edited by tadashii18; 12-08-2011 at 11:46 PM.
