Apple "forces" software upgrades as part of the fine print in the user contract. In other words, they could make you upgrade your iOS to their current version without warning or consent? I have to imagine that would be the end of jail-breaking period. Has it been discussed yet? Is that even a possibility?

That would never happen and even if they did if you jailbreak the phone, you could disable that feature
