My iphone 3gs was on ios5, i downgraded it to 4.3.3 and jailbroke it with redsn0w with ipad baseband but the cydia icon was white and wouldn't open, i googled and tried all fixes with no luck, i also has no signal with my sim in. I just want to upgrade to the latest firmware and i'll get the carrier to unlock it but the error i get when i try and upgrade is "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194)". Now i have a iphone stuck on 4.3.3 that won't upgrade and has no signal. Any ideas on how to fix it, even just to get my signal back is appreciated as i've been trying for 2 weeks! My baseband at the minute is 06.15.00-6.4_M3S2.
So you are now for sure on the iPad baseband? If so, did you really want to be on 5.0.1 or did you want to stay on iOS 4? If you're wanting to be on 5.0.1 and you're sure your carrier will unlock it, make sure your host files have been edited back to normal. If you've used TinyUmbrella, open it, go to advanced options, uncheck the box to point to cydia then exit TinyUmbrella. Open iTunes (if it was open before, close it and reopen it) and try to upgrade to 5.0.1.
Thanks for that, its updating to 5.0.1 now, hopefully this will solve the no signal problem aswell. I'm not even that bothered about unlocking it as i've got a 4s and was giving this away anyway so if its not unlocked the new owner will have to go on orange. I'll report back once its upgraded on wether its fixed. I finished a 18 month contract with orange but jailbroke the phone and now its altered the baseband, will this affect a carrier unlock? i think i'm on a ipad baseband, i followed a tutorial on jailbreak and unlock and it told me to click ipad baseband on redsn0w, th baseband now is 06.15.00-6.4_M3S2
Just a quick update on this, i succesfully upgraded my iphone to 5.0.1 but it still will not find any network and is giving me 'no signal' any ideas anyone??
