Iphone 3gs ios 4.1 Ipad BB 6.15:::::::want to upgrade to ios 5.xxxx

Iyeow helped me to get it JB and UL....

now I really want to Upgrade to ios 5.xxx and keep it JB and UL...my phone had newer bootrom(detected by Idetector)..

any help?

Couple things to think about. If you have the new bootrom, then your jailbreak on ios5+ will be semi-tethered. Secondly, ios 5.0 is the last Ultrasnow supports for now, so if you want to be on a non-ATT carrier (e.g. t-mobile), you'll have to wait if you want ios 5.0.1+. Finally, I previously upgraded my 3Gs to 5.0 and had nothing but problems with location services. I ultimately downgraded back to 4.1 and am much happier (e.g. no LC problems and much better battery life).

location service is not an issue for me, since I only use wifi..as long as I can keep it UnLock with tmobil on 5.0 I am fine...

do you mind to post the steps for me?

No don't do it. Ultrasnow has not been updated for ios 5.0.1.
I suggest waiting if you are on TMO

download ios 5.0.1
snowbreeze to create custom rom
pwn dfu
use itunes and restore cfw, select JB
once done, use ibooty or redsn0w to boot the idevice
run cydia update it and install ultrasn0w to UL it?

Do not restore to 5.0.1. Not only will it be tethered but you will also not be able to unlock yet as ultrasnow has not been updated to work with 5.0.1 (as the other member already said).

You can only use it on official carrier at 5.0.1 but not unlock.
iIf you just want to test drive 5.0.1, you can and then dowmgrade back to 4.1 for unlock again

I was running iOS 5 on my 3GS tethered jailbreak when suddenly my ultraslow unlock crashed..and my most Cydia tweaks stopped working..so I tried to restore to iOS 5 but I realized apple does not sign iOS 5 anymore so I downgraded to 4.3.3 for an untethered jailbreak..but when I tried to restore the backup on my phone it said my iPhone software is very old..so I downloaded iOS 5.0.1 and used sn0wbreeze to create a custom ipsw.. Now when I try to restore my phone it says error 3194..if my phone is in pawned dfu it says error 2005..and normally try to restore phone it sometimes says error 1604..I don't have apple in my hosts file..and my iPhone software update file is also empty..please help me out..any help would be appreciated..thank you..

He told me to uncheck 'set hosts file to cydia' in tinyumbrella..
