hey i posted here last night hoping to update my 3gs to ios 5 and jaikbreak it, and i was given a good guide. However, i tried it, and now my 3gs is stuck and will not restore. I made the custom file with snowbreeze but i get an error in itunes... any ideas?

if you mean holding slep and home for 10 seconds then just home for 10 yes. It said it was ready... I even tried restoring regularly in itunes and it had an error 3014. Im so screwed... nothing is working

please man i need help quickly

Edit: after sitting on the phone with apple for an hour I managed to get it to restore to the normal ios 5.0.2 so I guess I'll just have to wait until there is an untethered jailbreak for that but it all worked out...somewhat

5.0.2? So ya got ya phone back working. Sorry I was at a wake couldn't git on the phone.

oh I meant 5.0.1 haha sorry. Yea it's working, but only no jailbreak now so I can't test siri0us I still have no clue why it wouldn't work but idk. Is there an untethered jb for old bootrom 3gs on 5.0.1 by any chance?

Yes should be the same as 5.0

You used snowbreeze to do it all? And when ya start ya phone up instead of apple logo there is a snowflake

Alright, any chance you can give me all the files I need including the snowbreeze, apple firmware file, and anything else just so I know I'm using the correct stuff? And also a guide?

If you are already at 5.0.1, just run redsn0w 0.9.9b8, browse to stock 5.0 firmware from here : iClarified - iPhone - Where To Download iPhone Firmware Files From
Run Redsn0w
Click Extra
Select Ipsw
Click Back
Select Jailbreak
Select Cydia
Follow the rest of instructions
That's it. No need to tether boot

But there is no custom ipsw creating for windows redsn0w correct? Can I use sn0wbreeze as an alternative?

Doesn't updating to stock ios5.0.1 update your baseband to a newer version that's not able to untether?

Yes you can use sb 2.8b11 to create one.
But i thought you are already at 5.0.1

I am on 5.0.1. They told me I can still jailbreak because I have an old bootrom 3gs. Is this not true?

Ok so even though I'm on 5.0.1, I download the 5.0 fw, run sn0wbreeze to make it custom, then open redsn0w, click pick ipsw, then jailbreak?
