I would stay there and see if they ever make a untethered jailbreak for it.

4.2.1 and 4.3.3 was the two best for jailbreaking. In my opinion. But ya stay where ya at and wait and see what they do.

Ios5 is shaping ip to be the most buggy major upgrade version yet (TWO updates just to fix one problem??? Apple, what's going on!).

4.3.3 is JB'd untethered, stable and bug free. Most of the extras in 5 are available on a JB'd phone anyway, so my advice would be to stay put.

The fact that a tethered JB is most likely never going to happen for 5 kinda makes the decision even easier too.
