Okay so after searching through threads for similar issues and having no luck I thought I'd start a new one to see if there's a solution.
This evening I updated some Cydia apps which required a springboard restart. I believe a couple of them failed for reasons to do with the /sbin. I thought that it would have just ignored these updates and restarted as normal but as I've come pressed "Restart Springboard" to bring my phone back to use. It seemed fine until I realised it had been stuck on the circular ring for a while. It's currently there and I'm unable to do anything with the phone. I looked at [SOLUTION] iPhone shut off during boot / Stuck Apple Logo
but the problem seems to differ from mine as my phone isn't actually rebooting or shutting off, it's just stuck there.
It's an iPhone 4 running redsn0w 5.0 tethered jailbreak.
Yes sorry should have mentioned that. Just gets stuck on the Springboard spinner again. Is the most probable solution to have to do an update/restore using TU? iTunes is refusing to acknowledge the device.
You can go back to 4.xx if you have the blob using Tss Server to verify and restoring to custom firmware. If you don't have any blob, IOS 5.0.1 is your only restore.
