Hi All,

I have a iphone 3g firmware 4.2.1 baseband 05.15.04.
Right i need to know can this b jailbreaked? searched the internet for countless hrs, still none the wiser?

What software do i need to carry out the jailbreak? and unlocked.

Doing my head in now wasted sooooo much time, just cant seem to get the answers im after,any help will be good.

i did carry out a jailbreak but had no signal on my iphone and had 2 restore it back.

Any help will be good.

Yes, you can jailbreak it with Redsn0w 0.9.6 b8 onwards by installing cydia.
Then run redsn0w again by choosing ipad bb to be updated for unlock with Ultrasn0w.
Becareful when updating to ipad baseband, do jailbreak first and then do the ipad bb update and don't interupt while flashing the bb.

Were can I get the bb? Bcos it comes up saying invalid ipsw file? Were can I get one that will wrk? tried so many.

Redsn0w should fetch it for you, if it doesn't google icllarified ipad firmware and download ipad1 3.2.2. firmware.

& y do I nd to dl iPad 3.2.2 ? is that a ipsw file? That I will nd to use to unlock the bb, for my iPhone,
Thought their was ipsw files that r for ur current firmware for the iPhone to dl? & use, Soz for such dumb *** questions

The newest redsn0w 0.9.9b7 can fetch ipad bb but the old one doesn't. The newer version may not let you install ipad bb at 4.2.1, you can try.

Will try the newer version of redsnow & see if I can, or if it will let me change the bb to iPad,

Or would it be best jus to use redsnow 09.6 b8?
Also is their links on this site for the files &programs that I nd to carry out the process?
Just thinking is it worth all the hassle bcos I dont want to brick my iPhone.

try sn0wbreeze. i used that for the same os before i downgraded to 3.1.3 b/c it seems faster to me.

Kissy I tried snowbreeze still had no luck, bcos wen I wnt to open the ipsw file i hav it said it was invalid? I can jailbreak my iPhone but can't change the bb wit the ipsw files I have?
How do u dwn grade? & is their any major risks involved wen doin this?

How to Fix Sn0wbreeze Not a Valid IPSW Error on Windows? | Jaxov

Try option 3 on how to fix the sn0wbreez error. Try first restoring via itunes to whatever ipsw you are planning on using, then use that same ipsw for sn0wbreeze. Here's the iclarified link so you can try re-downloading the ispw. oh, and if it works, remember when your phone gets to the process where it's sitting at a green screen, do NOT shut it off, just restore in itunes with the custom ipsw it spits out with the shift restore.

and about the bb, if you have the 5.08 bootloader, you can use fuzzyband in cydia. im stuck on 6.15 b/c like an idiot i upgraded it to the ipad bb. now i cant officially unlock and have to use either a cingular sim (because prepaid gophone locks me out w/ att sim) or airvoice which are both att.
