Is Apple breaking the law ???
Just a thought but are Apple actually allowed to dictate what Firmware we have on our phones? Which is what they are doing by not signing anything 5.0+
Does this not take away the freedom of choice?
I would be interested to know from somebody if this is allowed or we all just have to suck it up.
I don't have the capital to take on apple on this but I would like to know ?

Not really. It's Apple's product, and if Apple sees fit that the newest fw versions are best suitable for our iDevices then that's what it is (even though it may not be true to an extent...)
If taken more seriously though I'm pretty sure Apple will have dozens of reasons to win the case.

I know what you are saying but its wrong.
It is not apples product it's mine I bought it unlocked and there for its my product and I should have the choice of what I put on my device.
I hate it when the big corporations rule what we do.
And it is wrong on so
Many levels

Right...but it's not your say.
My point isn't whether it's right or wrong, it's the fact that nobody would win this argument with Apple. It's a given that we should be able to use whatever OS version we desire on a device we spent hundreds of dollars on, especially when it doesn't harm anybody for us to do so, but there are so many things Apple can say to reason with why it is this way and legally it would stand.

It belongs to you, but they designed it and that means you get what they make. You can modify your device but they can make it however they want.
I dislike it just as much as you do, but I hate when people start shouting that it should be illegal. They are acting against you, like violating your privacy. Deal with it.Last edited by Melab; 11-12-2011 at 10:58 PM.
