Just a quick Question about 4s and IOS 5.01

I just wanted to ask the opinion of the experts.

I have a iPhone 4S and am patiently (well eagerly waiting) for the Jailbreak to come out.

But as 5.01 is in better and seems to correct a lot of the bugs I will want to upgrade to 5.01 (or what ever it's called when released) so to the question?

In your opinion will it be safe to upgrade to 5.01 as the exploit has not been released to Apple so they should not have had an opportunity to patch it. Or should I stay with the buggy 5.0 and wait for the Jailbreak to be released.

I know a lot of this is ifs and buts. But I would appreciate any feedback and advise. Just to make sure that I don't jump to 5.01 and then live to regret it for the next 6 months

You should upgrade to 5.0.1 I have it I really want a jailbreak. So upgrade now before apple comes up with another upgrade.

I can't update as its in beta and I am not a tester. And that still does not answer the question the exploit will that has been found on 5.0 will work on 5.01 for the iPhone 4S

As you may know the 4S has battery problems and 5.0.1 fixes the problems. Muscle nerd and others probably have battery issues and are not gonna release a jailbreak till the battery is fixed. So apple has no chance of knowing the exploit. You are safe.

A twitter post just came out that said if you want to jailbreak then DO NOT upgrade to 5.0.1. My dilema is that I am on ios 4.8 and have not upgraded to 5.0 as I did not want to lose the jailbreak but if 5.0.1 comes out then how do you just upgrade to 5.0... I downloaded 5.0 from itunes but did not install will I have that ability to just install 5.0 and not 5.0.1?

This is true as I follow pod2g and have just checked Twitter.

This make it even more confusing as I read that the Jailbreak that is currently out for 5.0 works on 5.01 you just have to point redsn0w to 5.0 so why would not be the same for the 4S ?

Now I don't know if I should upgrade to 5 with knowing if I wait I cant downgrade and there are no 5.0 blobs. Oh the dilemma.

When IOS 5.0.1 is released, there is a small window period where apple is still signing 5.0 where you can decide whether to go for 5.0 or 5.0.1. Every jailbreakers should be monitoring the release of IOS update and the jailbreak available. Sure this is a dilemma for all as IOS 5 is conscerned.

I got an alert this afternoon to update to 5.01. I had the phone connected to my computer when I got the alert. Did it get pushed OTA or through the computer?. I was not synced to Itunes (I believe). Any way to remove the (update-alert) that is always on my phone now alerting me so I don't click it on accident?

Even if you did click it by accident you would have to click except again to agree with Apple terms and conditions.

The Alert you get in iTunes if you clic cancel and tick the don't warn me again box it will not ask you again to update
