I have an iPhone 3G 4.2.1 bb 5.15.04 and can't ultrasnow. Is there any way to downgrade bb? Also when trying to upgrade bb to 6.15 reds now simply crashes on me. (windows) any help?

What I mean is I'm trying to carrier unlock.

Run redsnow in xp sp2 compatibility mode, what version of redsnow are u using ?

Sorry I'm away from home now so I can't give the exact version. However, would I be correct in assuming upgrading is my best bet. I hear all of these sob stories about it screwing up gps (among other things)

Make sure your not installing cydia at same time as ipad baseband, i tried this and redsnow crashed everytime until i done them seperately
