Default VZW iPhone 4, 4.2.8(8E401) - want to jailbreak it but...

    ...have questions first...

    Hi,

I wanted to do a search for my questions, but forum search is crashing(web admin is aware).

    1. Is there a way to do a full backup of my phone's current state? Meaning, I jailbreak it and if I want to go back, all I have to do is use the full backup. Hence, the phone is back as if nothing had happened.

    2. Because it's a Verizon phone, will jailbreaking disable my service with them?

    Thank you.

Jailbreaking will not disable your service.

What do you mean "full backup?" You can create a backup in iTunes and it will save all your settings and data before you jb, then if you want to restore to stock fw you can just load that backup back into your device. If you load a backup after you jailbroke, the backup will contain residue of jailbreak data. Not really a big deal, but to some people it is.

If I didn't answer your question correctly, please let me know.

    Hi,

By full backup, I mean that iTunes will take all the contents from the phone and create a backup for me.

    So you answered that one..

I just want to be absolutely, positively sure I can go back to before JB with the backup.

One more question came up though: will the JB mess with my email settings?

    Thanks so much.

Assuming everything goes correctly, your email settings should be unaffected.
