Trying to Jailbreak iphone 3g on 4.2.1

I have done quite a few jailbreaks on Iphones and my mate has given me his Iphone 3G (MB489B) on OS 4.2.1 (8C148) and no matter what I use to try and jailbreak it I have no luck. I have tried Blackra1n and it goes through the process but on the screen comes up with connect to itunes for 10 minutes then goes off, when you turn it back on nothings happened, Greenpois0n but it doesn't recognise that the phone is in dfu (trust me it is), redsn0w 0.9.6b4 and b6 just comes up with an error saying does not support this Iphone 3G, I've got to the stage where I'm going mad,

Use snowbreeze

Blackra1n is for 3.1.2 only. Greenpois0n doesn't work in iPhone 3G.

You can either do as the above said and use sn0wbreeze, or you can use redsn0w.

You should do a fresh restore if you plan on using redsn0w bc you ran a couple of jb tools on it already.
