What does jailbreaking an iPhone do? How do you do it? Is it worth doing? What are the advantages and disadvantages of jailbreaking an iPhone. I currently have an iPhone 4 on AT&T network and I'm interested in learning how to jailbreak my iPhone but wanna know the risks first. Can anyone help me out a response would be greatly appreciated

-be original
-just jailbreak

If u mean modem firmware it is 04.11.08 on iOS 5.0

And I've tried reading various articles and couldn't understand the terms anyone was talking about

Go to settings/general/about. What's the version?

In the version of my settings it says 5.0 (9A334)

best part about Jailbreaking is customization, and 3rd party apps. download cool apps in Cydia, many are free.
im on 3Gs, so i cant speak for iPhone4, but you should be able to restore to stock if needed.
this is very important for warrantee purposes. be sure you take proper steps so you can restore
in case service is required for some reason

It helped, you just need more time and it will make sense to you
