You don't need shsh file for restore to ios 5, apple server should be working now. Check your connection if you are still getting the No server connection error.

Where are you located, i just did two restore to ios 5 and it works. It has something to do with your computer. Can you try on a different computer.
Go check your tiny umbrella, make sure set hosts file to cydia is unchecked.
Try putting iphone into pwned dfu mode , restore to ios 5.

I have located the one host file through c:/windowssystem32driversetc then host and tried to modify the host file so it says: 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com at the bottom? Is this correct? I have change that and tried restoring.... restoring & updating and always get the same message?
Regards,
Dave

I have tried it with a # and a # then pressing tab? Does it matter that i am using windows 7 or the newest version of itunes?
It seems to give me the message just after the its backed up my iPhone and just extracted the software?

I am also on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits. Run Notepad as Admin, open to C
windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and edit it.
Also check hosts umbrella, ensure they are the same.

Hosts umbrella is in the same directory as your hosts file for windows.

This is whats in my host file?
