Default Need Help: Iphone 3GS Ver 3.0 on Baseband 04.26.08 Jailbroken...Upgrade to 4.3.3

Hello everyone. I'm a little late and need to get some advise on what I need to do in order to update my phone to 4.3.3 version from 3.0 with baseband 04.26.08.

I haven't updated because I didn't want to lose my tethering. With that being said, what steps do I need to do to update to 4.3.3. Any detail instruction would be greatly appreciated.

by the way, the phone is currently jailbroken if that is any help. Thank you again.

You can have untethered jailbreak at 5.0 and if you are using MyWi 5.0 for tethering , it is now compatible.
    Do you need unlock ?

Yes, update iTunes and hit restore, let apple verify your restore. You can also download iOS 5 firmware and do the shift + restore cos you will need the firmware when you do the jailbreak.

what if I want to stay with the same modem baseband? or go with 05.12.01...what are the benefit of updating the baseband?

If I wanted to go to 4.3.3 how would I do it?

I have downloaded snowbreeze and this "iPhone2,1_4.3.3_8J2_Restore.ipsw"

Can someone give me step by step on how to update the phone to 4.3.3.

I sort of understand to use snowbreeze to create a custom ipsw file and then put the phone into dfu mode, connect phone to itune and hit shift and restore and select the custom ipsw file.

Is that correct or am I missing something. I want it to go smoothly. Would doing it this way, will I lose all my information on the phone?

Thank you for your help in this matter. Very much appreciated.

Easiest way is to restore to stock firmware of iOS 5 and do the jailbreak. You will lose all your infos after the restore.

Your contacts are stored in your computer, your sms will be lost.
