Upgrade 4.3.3 to iOS5
Okay.. I need help.. So apple is now signing iOS 5 and I'm at a jailbroken 4.3.5. How do I go about removing the jailbreak to upgrade to iOS 5??(Its untethered if it helps)
ALso from expierience, if I were to just update the firmware in my jaiklbroken state, it would just make my iphone be stuck at the apple logo loading thingy and well, by technological miracles, I managed to get out of it but I'm not risking it on Ios 5 since its a big update and what not. So anyknow know how do I go about doing this??Last edited by HybridParticle; 10-23-2011 at 11:29 PM.

Whoops my bad. you're correct. It's 4.3.3 I was looking at cydia and saw the 4.3.5 at the top and immediately thought that was my current version.

Update iTunes and hit restore to go to iOS 5 and you have to reinstall your tweaks after the jailbreak. Bear in mind , most of the tweaks are not yet compatible with iOS 5 yet.

Frozen apple logo have two meaning. If you have a tethered jailbreak and if it reboots, then you tether boot it.
If you install or update cydia and it freezes up at apple logo, then tether boot will not help you.

So I just straightaway update from 4.3.3 to 5 without removing my jailbreak whatsoever??
Sounds risky doesn't it?

If you update it and do another jailbreak, you may face problems. It must be a restore.

Run itunes, connect your iphone > you hear a beep > iphone connected > highlight your iphone name on the left side > On top > click on Summary > now you should see the Restore button
Shift key + restore will let you browse to your firmware.

I strongly recommend staying on 5.0 until unteathered is out but there is a teathered and semi teathered jailbreak if you want and for the backup problem use pkgbackup
