Dam,...screwed up my post here,... I have all the shsh's saved and they all show on Tiny Umbrella.... 4.2.6, 4.2.8, 4.2.9, 4.2.10. T.U. TSS srevice starts up with no problem. Put iphone4 (verizon) in DFU mode and start i-tunes. Restore goes well until the end when I get an ERROR (1). Hit T.U. Exit rcovery but it doesn't take me out of recovery mode. Tried RECBOOT and it kicks me out but recovery mode comes right back in. Put iphone in DFU mode and used redsnow. That goes smoothly when when my phone reboots,... I get the "Emergency phone only" and with the recovery sign (USB cable pointing at itunes icon) in the background. Now I can't get out of that. That's as far as I get. I use the latest T.U. and i'm on the latest i-tunes...hmmm ...do I have to downgrade my itunes to 10.1.2.17 to make this work? Frustrated but not giving up!

You are attempting to downgrade an iPhone from iOS 5 to iOS 4.x. To resolve, use either custom firmware created by PwnageTool/sn0wbreeze or use notcom's FixRecovery utility available on his site.
Unable to downgrade. Try changing the USB port (the back one of chassis is better) and restart computer.
The installed version of iTunes may also be too old. Update iTunes.
That's it! I Give up,....YIELD,....SURRENDER,...Lay down my arms,...Throw in the towel,...etc.
I guess I'll stick with "YEOW'S" plan and wait for the 5.0 untethered jailbreak and hope all those wonderful cydia apps get updated right after. Missing the themes and jailbreaking apps but i'll WAIT!!! Thanx anyway fellas for the help!!! I will be watching!!!

I updated my iphone 4 to the new ios 5 and now my modern firmware is 4.11.08, and I can't use my phone again. How can I downgrade back to 4.3.5. I am a rookie so please be precised. Thank you
Could you be specific. Define "I can't use my phone" bc it's hard to be precise about a solution without knowin exactly what is wrong. Downgrading may not be your solution for all we know.

Before I upgraded to IOS 5, I was using my phone using Gevey. But after I upgraded, my phone won't get service. After which time I decided to downgrade but that does not seem to be working for me. But if there is a way that I can get it to work without downgrading, I'll be fine. I was on Simple Mobile network, a T-Mobile company.
You can restore and if your iphone is locked to a carrier, you cannot unlock it for other carrier unless you ask your provider to permanently unlock it which they will not do it until 2 years contract is over. You can downgrade firmware if you have the blob but the baseband is not going to downgrade.
In Summary, if you want to use it on T-mobile, you can't
+1. If you want to unlock you need to be careful with updates. You should've preserved your baseband while updating to 5.0.
Your best bet is to either wait for a new solution, which we don't know when that will happen, or sell your phone and buy another with a baseband or 4.10.xx or lower.
The CDMA Verizon iPhone once upgraded to IOS 5. If your planning on downgrading. You may proceed to stand upright because you just ****** yourselves. The new bb was designed to help prevent downgrading. The BB inst compatible with the lower Firmware even if you do manage to get the lower firmware installed, your going to run into the "MEID: Unknown" problem. I'm strictly speaking for the Verizon iPhone 4, not 4s, at&t or sprint. I have the Verizon and i to have felt that apple thrust.. All we can do if you updated to the OFW is sit back relax get a pizza watch more porn, think about whats going to happen in the next episode of supernatural and wonder what i.Annie looks like in a braw ~or am i alone in that one~ either way pfft

LOLOL,... Well said tcride69! I'm in the exact same situation. I did manage to downgrade to 4.2.8 but only got the emergency phone and MEID=unknown. No activation whatsoever. had no choice but to upgrade back to 5.0 and activation worked fine! Guess I will have a cold beer and pizza and just wait for the unthered jailbreak and all the good Cydia apps to upgrade with it! Love Apple but hate thier dam restrictions!!!!
