Strange snoflake boot - Long time AFTER jailbreak
Hi everyone. So I jailbroke an Iphone 3G about 6 weeks ago for a friend. All was going great but then yesterday she tried to do a Reset from the Settings menu, after doing this, the Iphone just froze on the Snowflake logo. Now, no matter what I try, nothing works, it is totally stuck on snowflake, and it doesent even seem to charge, when I get it to a black screen by holding HOME and POWER buttons, I plug it in to charge, and the snowflake reappears and stays, no charging light, nothing...
I have been through the forums and cant seem to find anything that describes this precise situation. Even opening Itunes, rednow, tiny umbrella etc.. No response....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you used Sn0wBreeze?
Put it in DFU, restore and JB with RedSn0w - assuming you don't need an unlock as you only did it 6 weeks ago.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

I have tried that, it simply stays on the snowflake, no response from Snowbreeze or itunes.....

You are at frozen apple logo, my friend. Frozen apple logo is the same as Snowflakes if you restore using Snowbreeze.
You need a restore.

Restore to custom firmware of 4.1 again if you have the unlockable baseband . You can also restore to stock firmware of 4.1 if you don't have the unlockable baseband.

The problem seems to be stuck on the snowflake, the computer doesnt want to see the Iphone, itunes nor redsnow, I used snowbreeze on a PC to jailbreak, and am now trying to repair via a mac, if that helps....? But like I said, I see a screen now pretty much telling me to pluginto snowbreeze for a restore.....
Im not sure what to use to restore.... There isnt really a connection, with a black screen, i plug into computer, and all i get is the snowflakeLast edited by bradbmtl; 10-21-2011 at 06:02 PM.

Trigger it into recovery mode , itunes will then detect it.

Can you turn off it off ?
What firmware is on it, baseband and whether it is unlock.

i unlocked it and jailbroke 6 weeks ago. No turning on and off, no matter what i do its either a black screen, just the snowflake logo or a black and white screen telling me to plugin to snowbreeze....
As for baseband, good question, I dont remember, and I cant turn it on to find out....

Yes, restore to stock 4.1 , you should be getting error 1015 but can be kicked out.

O.k, so I should download 4.1 and restore via itunes correct?
I have downloaded redsnow and pwanage tool, would it be better to restore via one of this programs? Because my iphone is in restore mode when i have the grey screen telling me to plug into a snowflake... it would appear.....Last edited by bradbmtl; 10-21-2011 at 06:49 PM.

If you restore to custom firmware , you need to put into pwned dfu mode.
If you are now restoring to stock 4.1, you may get error even before you can restore. In that case, you need to put iphone into normal dfu mode and restore again to stock 4.1.

I am downloading Iphone 1,2 4.1 restore from this site right now, i am guessing i have the right one. i have done this before but i got rusty. i know the baseband is not locked because again, it was jailbroken for 6 weeks until the person did a full reset from the settings menu, thats why i found it so strange... But once 4.1 is downloaded i will load it via itunes....^=?
stock 4.1 is that what I am presently downloading?? With the trouble I had getting it to Restore mode or whatever i am in, I am not sure if I will be able to put it into pwned dfu mode, I wil try with the Pwnage tool.....
18 minutes left until download is finished, how do you recommend proceeding once it is? I dont think the pwnage tool is used for putting the iphone in that mode? When I open the pwnage tool with iphone in recovery iit simply wants a ipsw fileLast edited by bradbmtl; 10-21-2011 at 07:18 PM.

You should restore to custom firmware just in case you still have the unlockable baseband to preserve your bb.
If you restore to stock, it will be updated to a non unlockable bb but if you have ipad bb, then it doesn't matter cos this bb is not going to change
Use the tool for pwned dfu, you cannot do it with a normal dfu trigger.
