confused need help: 3gs running ios 4.0

Hi Guys really need your help.

I know untethered ios5 update has not been out and i am waiting my question is.

I am running ios 4, i have not updated for long time. Once the untethered jailbreak is release for ios5 should i be able to update directly to 5 (skipping 4.1, 4.3). I want to preserve my baseband 4.26 as my phone is unlocked.

Please help with detail answer.
