I never thought I would say this but. Does IOS 5 take away the need to Jailbreak. As it seems to have most things now.
So what would I be missing by not Jailbreaking? Apart from I can make my phone look better with Winterboard which I personally think makes the phone slower?
I have not upgraded to ISO5 yet and am still at 4.3.3 on an iPhone 4.
But I have a chance to get a 4S with an outlay of £200 to me as I will be selling my IP4. So I am going to go for it and get the 4S. Any feed back on Performance against the IP4.
And is there any point of Jailbreaking now? I think they only thing I would miss would be Lock Screen Info. But isnt the Notifications in ISO 5 the same as that?
I know this is a long post with a lot of questions but I have been around MMI for a few years now and I know I will get good sound advise
Thanks

IMO no. I just went a day without a jb on iOS 5 and just rejb it now -.-
I need unlimtones, SSH, sbsettings, tetherme, winterboard, and I'm sure there's more but those are the ones I found myself getting angry over that I didn't have lol. Some people use more Cydia tweaks than others and I think those who have found useful Cydia tweaks and have gotten spoiled by them are the people who have a hard time going without a jailbreak.
I quite frankly have an issue with not having a jb lol. I usually NEVER use a tethered or semi-tethered jb but I found out now that I'd rather have a semi-tethered jb on iOS 5 than to have an untethered on iOS 4 or go stock.
In my opinion, ios5 is fine and does some stuff that you would jailbreak for but, as soon as an untethered JB is released I am going for it. I need 5 dock, bbs settings, lockscreen info and other apps available in cydia.
Get the 4S if you can get a good deal on it! Try to go a day without a jailbreak and see how that feels for you. If you can live, then yay! If not then...lol it shouldn't be too long before an untethered jb is released. Or you could go semi-tethered jb on iOS 5 right now.
I thought I could go stock for a while but I really don't want to if I don't have to, so that's my suggestion, test it out!
Edit: totally goofed, sorry! I was in the mindset of iP4, 4S can't be jb right now. Guess you don't have a choice but to go stock. I say try it out on your iPhone 4 unjb and see how it goes then, if possible!
Jailbreak is still so worth it, for one, like I mentioned in my other thread SBSettings is integrated now with notifications and you can have it show on the lockscreen which I have no idea why Apple didn't do in the first place. There's still so much that can be tweaked, like the folders, Apples folder software still sucks majorily, can't wait till iFolders is ready.
Can't remember what it was called but I had a nice scrolling app that let you scroll fast instead of flicking the screen, can't remember what it was called though. Have to see if I can find it again and if it will work for iOS 5. Think it was called Quickscroll.
Im typing on my unjailbroken 4S- it's fast, but just doesn't cut it without so many jailbreak tweaks. Tweaks are just more fun that adding apps all of time. I miss multifl0w so much, im going to repurchase it just support the dev in appreciation of me missing it - instead of tying it in on my account.
iOS 5, IMO is very nice- but not sufficient as a stand alone. It's very..... well....normal. Without Siri, it would really be hard for me to wait for a jailbreak. I just keep testing iOS 5 stuff on my old 4 on iOS 5 to see what I want to add on my 4s when it's time. Cydia devs are about to get some money from me for sure (this is the longest ive been unjailbroken--- 1 week ---- ever). Gotta have the jailbreak. It's just the way it is once you've done it.
This 4s is AWSOME!!!!! But I seriously miss my jb, live weather, live clock, activator, infinidock and infinboard, and categories, its been a week for also without my jb 😖,
I disagree, the device isn't worthless without a jb. Sure, if I had a choice I would always choose to jb my phone but even if jb became impossible one day, I would still have an iPhone. It's better with a jb, but it isn't worthless IMO.
