i've been waiting for redsn0w to be available for PC users and now that it is, i see that i could have already jailbroken iOS 5 with sn0wbreeze. which one am i supposed to go with, advantages, disadvantages?
It all depends on what iPhone you have?
Are you trying to make a cfw?
Both can jailbreak
SB can cook you a cfw and all you gotta do is restore it with that.
Redsn0w fixes location services (not sn0wbreeze)
well then redsn0w it is. last time i cooked something it didn't come out so well. are you talking about using a firmware that is different than iOS? i'm not real clear on that.
In a general sense, sn0wbreeze/pwnagetool are tools that create custom firmwares so that users who need to unlock can preserve the baseband.
Redsn0w can only be used if you restored to a stock firmware. Using a stock fw over a cFW means the baseband gets upgraded too so unlockers tend to stay away from that.
Bottom left corner, only redsnow for mac can create custom firmware, dev team try to rush out a version of redsnow for windows ,so no feature incorporated into it.
