So I had an older 3GS that I had jailbroken on 3.1.2, and I don't use it anymore. I wanted to put it back to OFW so that I can try and sell it, but I got stuck halfway through the process with Error 29. I tried googling it and looking for other topics on it, but couldn't find anything good.
I've tried 3 different computers to try and restore/update on, and even tried to see if Apple could fix it, but the "genius" got the same error and said "I don't know what it means either, sorry. It's out of warranty anyways."
I don't care what firmware I'm able to restore to, just as long as it works. I'm running iTunes 10.3.1.55 and I know I have a few SHSH blobs saved via Cydia when I had the phone working before. Oh, and I also don't care to have it unlocked either, in case that makes a difference.
Is this phone completely bricked? Any chance you guys know how to fix it?
Sorry for the bump, but I tried looking up a few things about this again and I'm seeing some things about it possibly being a problem with batter compatability. I DID replace the battery recently and it most certainly wasn't through Apple, I did it myself. Could this be the issue??
What is the correct battery I should have?
I'm not sure what the APN of the original battery was, but I currently have 616-0431.
