    Default Jailbreaking over a jailbreak

The only thing keeping me from using the redsnow untethered jailbreak is im not certain that, once an untethered jailbreak is released, the transition from an untethered to a tethered will be easy and seemless.

if i use the untethered jailbreak available now to hold me over until the untethered is released, will i be able to simply "rejailbreak" and overwrite the tethered as if it wasnt even there or will i have to take additional steps? id appreciate some input from someone more knowledgeable than i about these matters as this is the only thing keeping me from actually jailbreaking lol

No one knows yet, you could just run the jailbreak to get untethered when it comes out. Mine is untethered

it's never a good idea stability-wise to run an untethered jailbreak over a tethered one because historically there have been cases where they are both compatible, and not compatible with eachother. Now with iCloud, you shouldn't have a problem restoring a backup of your apps and stuff, so just tethered jailbreak now, be careful about rebooting, and re-restore to an untethered jailbreak when released. Usually, it takes at a minimum of 2 weeks for untethered to be released, usually more like a month or so; don't get your hopes up for untethered anytime soon (don't remember that they need to release exploits that do not adversely affect future jailbreaks).
