Wow! That's great news about the battery. I've seen that reported elsewhere about iOS 5 on the 3GS. I believe iMessages show up with blue highlighting. At least, that's the way it appeared on an iPhone that wasn't JB that someone showed me.

There isn't a blue button. But apparently when an iMessage comes in it is highlighted in blue. That's how it was explained to me by someone else who was showing it to me on their iPhone 4. I haven't personally had an opportunity to use it, as I don't have iOS 5 installed yet.

I'm still mulling it over. I've been following and participating in the thread over at the DEV-TEAM blog. I'm pretty confident that I can succesfully JB my 3GS (old boot ROM) on iOS 4.3.5 with redsn0w 0.9.9b6 (Windows) and then UL with ultrasn0w 1.2.4. I've been assured by someone with my setup, that did it with those tools. Of course, as I indicated to you before, I want to upgrade to iOS 5 soon. I wouldn't hesitate to do it now, but there are still some apps that I use that aren't supported by 5 yet. Hopefully, within the next week or two that will change. I also want iBooks available to me.

Having said that I'm frustrated feeling stuck at 4.1, because I'm missing enhanced native functionality that Apple introduced starting with iOS 4.2.1. So for that reason, I'm considering doing the JB/UL at 4.3.5, but only for week or two.

I know, I know...you probably think I'm crazy and I should just move on to 5 now, because it's so much better. Part of it is, I just want to see the differences from 4.1. And then the differences of 5 from 4.3.x. That may seem wierd, but I'm technically curious about these kind of things.
