factory unlocked iphone 4 - jailbreak question

so google gave me 2 diff results YES + NO lol

If I buy a FACTORY unlocked 4/4S from Apple for full price. Can I still jailbreak it and keep the unlock? i'm reading YES I can, also reading if I unlock - the baseband gets upgraded thus losing the unlock. so i'm so confused.

I do travel a bit, but I obviously spend more of my time in the US. So i'd say I need the JB more then the unlock. Only reason I need the JB is for 1 app that is no longer supported in the apple app store. 1 F'n app - i would've switched off iphone already if there was something else like it honestly.

Doesn't matter what you do, restore, upgrade, jb etc. your unlock will always stay intact. It will never get locked to a single carrier. Don't worry about all that baseband stuff, that only applies to non-factory unlocked iPhones.

But that's assuming a jb will be released for the iPhone 4S, it's currently not available.
