Safe Mode problem

I have a jailbroken and unlocked iphone 3g on firmware 4.2.1 baseband 05.12.01 recently upgraded from 3.1.3 using a custom IPSW from pwnagetool. Everything seems to work fine except for one of the apps that I am using (Hanging with friends). In the app, there is a functionality to connect with my Facebook account but everytime I try to connect, my iphone freezes up and then gives me a message saying its in safe mode. I tried some troubleshooting by removing my cydia apps but it still gave me the same problem. Everything else in the app works fine just connecting to facebook is causing a problem. I searched online and no one else seems to have this problem with the app. Crash log, from CrashReporter, says Thread 1 Crashed and it has the following processes in it:

libsystem.B.dylib (its listed six times in Thread 1)

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

EDIT: I tried connecting to facebook on other apps, and the same thing happens. It goes into safe mode
