i erased all content and settings on iphone and now am stuck on the apple logo
Hey guys, good to see the community thriving. I just bought an iphone 4S and decided to give away my 32gb 3gs to someone who can't afford the phone or the contract. its 3gs, jailbroken on ipad baseband 06.15, and running 4.1 firmware. I manually deleted all the apps and email accounts and all, but then for some strange freakin' reason i went ahead and pressed "erase all settings and content" in the general settings. now the 3gs is stuck on apple screen. i feel terrible coz i was giving this away to a close friend. any idea how i get it back? snowbreeze with custom firmware? redsnow? i have shsh blobs saved. appreciate the help. thanks.
never mind guys. i got it back. downloaded snowbreeze 2.8. made custom firmware with the official iOS 5 ipsw using the preserve baseband function. then shift-restored it in iTunes, and voila!! and a pleasant surprise was a message in iTunes that Apple has unlocked my iPhone. sweet. no need to jailbreak or use ultrasnow anymore. now i can give this away in peace.
P.S: O2 in ireland had unlocked my iphone a while ago, but itunes wasn't detecting the unlock until I shift-restored it today.
by the way, an amazing website with video walkthroughs of restoring, jailbreaking, and unlocking that helped me this time:
