Hey guys i need help

My ipod 3g 5.0 wont play sound or video. At all. On music and video, the play button will go to pause, then back to play. Ive tried restoring, and i dont think it is hardware because i can hear the speakers crackling

Most definitely. But that isnt the problem. The sound never worked

If you restore to stock firmware and not jailbroken, the sound stil never work, then it is a hardware issue. It could be the speaker problem itself.

But it doesnt play video either

Restore and setup as new iPod , without jailbreak check if your sound and video works normal
