iPhone 4 factory unlocked jailbreak question..
Hi guys,
New here! I just found out about the site and there's a lot of good info here. Thanks a lot for that!
I currently have an iPhone 3G unlocked/jailbroken and I have been using it for two years now. It's time to upgrade so I am looking to purchase a factory unlocked iPhone 4. I called the Apple store and they said that it comes with 4.3.5.
Would I be able to jailbreak it? Also, what are the consequences of jail-breaking a factory unlocked phone?
And, should I just buy an ATT and unlock it using software programs or is it better to get an factory unlocked phone...

Factory unlocked is better. There is no untethered jailbreak for 4.3.5.

Wait until November, there will be iPhone 4S Factory Unlocked coming out with the same price as iPhone 4 Factory Unlocked.

Then go with Iphone 4 as you will be only using Edge Speed, not 3g nor 4g for T-mobile.

10-14-2011, 08:37 PM #6I had the factory unlocked iPhone 4 since march (bought on the grey market just before apple officially started selling it in the us). I just switched from tmobile to sprint with the 4s. It's definitely much snappier and truth be told if you plan to sell the phone later, I'd buy the 4s unlocked since you'll flat out get better market value. Just my two cents. Personally, I would go for the newest and the best if I have the money. If you are money contrained, then you know what to do

1. brand new iPhone 4 factory unlocked - $549
2. brand new iPhone 4 and get it unlocked with a gevey - $400-$420

It looks like you live in Asia or Europe, not in the states. I do own a factory unlocked iphone 4 , it is more convenient in terms of travelling. Originally Posted by ryim1
