Today I was updating my Facebook app through the appstore app on my iPhone 4 CDMA running 4.2.6. It froze the phone and sent it into a recovery loop. So I can only power it up and see the connect to itunes logo. How do I restore is so that it works again?
What I've tried:
- Tried shift restoring to 4.2.6 and obviously itunes gave me a 3194 error (meaning that it wasn't signed, right?).
- I have my 4.2.6 SHSH blobs saved on Cydia servers
- Tried restoring through TinyUmbrella, it can't connect to a TSS server or something, so that didn't work. Also the "Exit Recovery" button didn't work.
- Right now I'm downloading the latest (4.2.10) from iTunes and going to try to restore from that.
Basically I don't care what firmware version i get to, so long as it's functional.
Okay here's where I'm at. I managed to upgdate (legit, through iTunes) my phone to 4.2.10, and restored to my previous backup because I needed my contacts.
Everything seems to be as expected, however I can't seem to get FaceTime working. When I switch it "on" in settings it says "awaiting activation" and then fails. I've tried a number of things, but every time I am FaceTime, it registers as a phonecall and the other person can only hear me.
The reason is you setup as a backup restore. In case you don't know, if you setup as a new iphone after the restore, all your contacts are on your computer and you can sync it back except for SMS and etc.
how would i sync back pictures and videos without restoring from a backup? I'm talking about pics and vids in my camera roll, not on my My Pictures folder synced through iTunes into albums.
