Jailbreaking 4.1 on iPhone 3G

I'm using an iPhone 3G with iOS 4.1 5.15.04

i would like to jailbreak it.

Can i just jailbreak it or do i need to restore it then only i can jailbreak?

What software should i used to jailbreak? Redsn0w or greenpois0n?

Mine is a factory unlocked, so preserving the bb or not is not much of a problem

You don't need to restore, just jailbreak. Go with Redsnow 0.9.6 b6, don't use GP, not meant for 3g
