I was having Wifi Issues wit my Unlocked and jailbroken Iphone 3G (running version 4.2.1). Initially I had unlocked the iphone with redsnow (i forget what version it was). So I decided to download snowbreeze and do a complete restore. At first I left the (h)activate box unchecked. However when the process was complete and my phone was turned on, I was only able to make emergency calls and itunes was unable to read my iphone, asking me to insert an authorized sim card. So i went back and did the snowbreeze procedure again, this time checking the (h)activate box. All went fine and my iphone turned on, itunes opened up and i clicked shift and selected a custom ISPW which I had made from snowbreeze. It asked if the iphone could be restored via a backup or a brand new one. I selected the back up option and everything was restored. But now I have no service, and under settings Iam unable to see the carrier option as well. Please help
My wifi is still not working, everytime i try to connect to a wifi it says unable to join network. I did the whole restore just cas my wifi had stopped working and it seems the problem is still persistent. So what other option do i have? Can i download a specific version of ultra snow and try to unlock my phone again?
Hmmm, no wifi, can you use ifunbox or iphone browser to get into your root system, go download Ultrasnow deb fiile and put it in cydia/autoinstall directory and reboot your iphone
The above may not work as there are other dependency that needs to be updated.
If you have a an official sim with service, build a non activated cfw again .When restored, let it activate and you should get 3G network and install Ultrasnow. After that, switch back to your sim card.
i dont have ifunbox on my iphone and i can not use my iphone browser as I am unable to connect to any wifi despite having 3g and cellular data on. Since I have no service I assume my cellular data will not function. What else can i do
What if i install ultrasnow on my pc?
any help at this point would be greatly appreciated. I desperately need service my tomorrow
I do have an official sim, I bought my iphone with a carrier called fido and now I'am using it with rogers. Nobody i know has fido anymore. Is there anyway I can get signal just for now and have an unlock iphone? At the moment i dont care about all my back up. I just need service
Your iphone is locked to fido, you need to unlock it to work with Rogers. what you need is a fido with service and data plan.
Why don't you use fido as your carrier, it has cheaper plan, mine is Rogers and is expensive.
I dont have a fido simcard anymore. I had one before but now I am with rogers. It depends on which province and area you are in. Please help me get signal. What will happen if i restore everything back to factory settings and unlock it again? Will i get signal?
Try downgrade to stock 4.1 maybe it fixes your wifi.
Put iphone into dfu mode and restore to stock 4.1 firmware.
When error 1015 pops up, use exit recovery from tiny umbrella to kick it out.
Put your fido sim to trigger into home screen and check your wifi
I dont have a fido simcard anymore. I only have a rogers simcard on me. inserting a fido simcard in my 3g is out of the question at the moment. All i want is to have service/signal again. I dont care if i loose everything at the moment, I need my phone to be working by morning, thats all i have concerned about now.
What can i do to get my signal back? Restory factory setting and unlocking it again would not help?
What if i use snowbreeze to unlock but do no restore through itunes, instead I select the new phone option?
From emergency screen after restore to 4.1, run redsn0w 0.9.6b6 to hactivate and jailbreak . Check if your wifi is working. If it still doesn't work, there is nothing much you can do unless you take it apart and inspect any loose connection or even a crack in your logic board.
Read post 16 and 18. To choose 4.1 ipsw, run itunes : shift + restore to 4.1 ipsw
Goodluck.
If still no wifi, then you have a hardware issue, you can take it to a repair store or get a new phone.
