No Network after Restoring

I just finished reading your posts, still uncertain on some issues. Iam in windsor, ontario.

So i have all the files downloaded, both redsnow and 4.1

I opened redsnow, selected 4.1 as the firmware
I clicked next
selected cydia and ipad baseband as the options, hope those were the correct choices
now what do i do?

I did everything with rednow, now i have opened itunes up, held shift down and selected 4.1
what do i do next after the restore?

How do you restore to custom firmware ? It is the same thing except you restore to stock 4.1 firmware
The only difference is put your iphone into dfu mode before shift + restore to stock fw in itunes.
Error 1015 pops up, run tiny umbrella and use exit recovery to kick it out.
Now you are at emergency screen
Run redsn0w and do your jailbreak.
Check your wifi is working, if it is not, then you have a hardware problem.

I get error 1604 in itunes?
What do i do?

Did you put your iphone into dfu mode ? Is your hosts file pointing towards apple server ? Are you restoring to stock 4.1 ipsw ?

ok i got the error 1604, i pressed exit recovery on tiny umbrella. I got to the emergency screen. Just opened redsnow and iam jailbreaking now

DFU mode : plug iphone in, hold both button for 10 sec, release Power but keep holding the Home until you hear a beep
Set host file to apple server : run TU, uncheck : set host file to cydia and close it.

I did not follow the steps mentioned above. No idea how to set host file to apple server. I did get to the emergency screen and its currently jailbreaking through redsnow.

I still get the same message when i try to join any wifi network. It says unable to connect to network.

Is there any way i can unlock the phone now on 4.1 without going through cydia
I just want my service to be restored, i dont care about my wifi issue at the moment. How can i unlock my iphone 3g on 4.1?

What third party software do you have in your computer for rooting to iphone files.

nothing really...i have what i downloaded tonight, redsnow, tiny umbrella and snowbreeze.

I will just go ahead and unlock my phone via download ultrasnow and disk aid...best option right?

See if you can install ultrasn0w from cydia without updating

what do you mean without updating? i cant open cydia when i have no internet connection

I have come across a video which i used before, where there was no need for any wifi connection. You do it through disk aid and it worked for me when i was on 4.2.1

Then try that, I don't know this disk thingy thing. I am going to bed now, has been a long day.

WOOOOOOOOOOW. i finally got service man. I used disk aid without wifi to solve the issue. All this problem and 8 hours of trying to fix my service and yet no wifi.

Ok so now i have on 4.1, what do i do if i want to get back on 4.2.1 so i can restore my iphone.? i mean my phone is unlocked and jailbroken now, so how do i go about updating to 4.2.1

To go to 4.2.1, you have to restore to a hactivated custom firmware like what you did before i asked you to downgrade. You cannot restore to stock 4.2.1.
Once you have restored, you need the disk aid to install Ultrasn0w.
