Did you try restoring to 4.3.5 in iTunes? What error do you get (3194 means they are not signing 4.3.4 any more)

iTunes says: this iPhone could not be restored. This device is not eligible for the requested build. I used to receive a code, I don't recall what it was however it did related to 'unauthorised modifications.

In Tinyumbrella unselect the option to look at its server.

Did you install Tiny umbrella, if you did , go to advance tab and uncheck set hosts file to Cydia, close TU and restore to 4.3.5 through iTunes

Are you sure? Changes to the Hosts file are usually not implemented until a reboot but I will learn fom you if you are certain.

Right
I've restored from untethered jailbreaks no problem, i guess it's different with a tethered jailbreak.
Anyway, a bit back i saved this ''number'-iphone4-4.0.1.shsh'. Can i use this to restore? I've never downloaded Tinyumbrella until 5 mins ago.

Yes, if this is your blob, then you can downgrade by using tss server in TU and do your downgrade. You have to put iPhone into dfu mode though

iClarified is very good - they link to the same as Firmware - The iPhone Wiki
It is one of the few sites I recommend. After MMi of course. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Thanks again guys - problem solved.
I used the iclarified link above and used Tiny Umbrella to restore to 4.3.3. I now have an unjailbroken iphone that will shortly be getting re-jailbroken with jailbreakme.
Note i also had to use fixrecovery which made the whole process slightly more complex, but even a novice like me managed it so it's all good.
Thanks to all.....
