Wierd issue....
I have an iPhone 4 on 4.2.10. I'm trying to downgrade to 4.2.8. SHSH blobs are there and saved. Itunes recognizes the phone in normal mode but when i go to restore all i get is a white screen.....and some time after that the 1601 error. Then I tried to jailbreak my current firmware using redsnow......once it gets to the "waiting for reboot" part, my screen turns white and nothing happens. I also notice that sometimes itunes will not recognize my phone when in the "connect to itunes"mode. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled a few versions of itunes to no avail. Is this a driver issue?
thanks in advance.Same username on: hondatech, 7thgenhonda, clubrsx, orlandoforums, civicforums

Restore only to custom firmware of 4.2.8 using TSS Server from Tiny Umbrella with your 4.2.8 saved blob.

I fixed it, it was a driver issue....whenever the phone would boot into dfu it would install generic driver rather than the iboot ones. So i had to go to device manager, and choose one of the composite usb devices and updated the drivers manually to iboot drivers. I appreciate the response though

Yeah I don't know if I'm just not understanding the terms or if I really don't get that aspect. May I ask, what did you do to your device or computer to make you have to mess with the drivers? Restoring a device shouldn't be that complex, should it?
