Out of no where my phone is suddenly telling me: "Waiting for activation. This may take a while."
I have had my phone for a while and recently I have had some service problems.
Now although, it is just giving me that.
Of course like this I have no chance of getting any service at any time even if I fix my No Service problem.
Also a quick question. I want to connect to a wifi which has a proxy set. I understand that the iPhone does support proxies and have managed to access the wifi before but only for a couple of seconds and since then it has never worked again.
Is there any guide to show how exactly to set it up because I cant figure out why its not working.
Well, it is but it isnt.
I used ultrasn0w to unlock it but I believe my phone is locked to O2 and im using an Orange SIM...
Will it only activate with an O2 sim?
If im not wrong then the official carrier is O2. Im using an Orange SIM, hence I unlocked it.
Well, my bb is 6.15. The iPad baseband. Im sure that doesnt help...
I have restored it yes. I restored it to 4.1 and it didnt work and then I restored it back to 4.21..
Isn't O2 is the same as orange sim ? I am not familiar with your carrier.
Going from 4.1 to 4.2.1 is not going to solve your problem.
What I would do is :
Restore to stock 4.1
Put official sim to trigger into Springboard
Jailbreak with redsnow and install ultrasnow
Let iPhone activate through iTunes
If it doesnt activate, go and update iPad bb one more time.
No O2 isnt the same as Orange sadly enough.
Although I am pretty sure it is locked to O2 since when I was in spain I used a "movistar" SIM card which worked just fine and they are part of "Telefonica" as well as O2 is.
The thing is. Since I have the iPad baseband already installed I cant go to stock 4.1. The only way to restore is with a custom firmware.
Any idea on what I can do?
Tiny umbrella doesnt recognize my phone though. When I open TU it does not allow me to press enter/exit dfu mode...
Apart from that, I have managed to restore to 4.1 although with a custom firmware. The Waiting for Activation is now gone but I would still like to see if I can get a stock firmware to maybe allow me to regain signal.
Have you got any idea on how I can get TU to recognize my phone?
The only thing my TU is showing in the top left is "Show all SHSHs".
Nothing else is in that list.
Also, yes I have installed Ultrasn0w. I get Reception but no signal if you know what I mean. I see my carrier in the top left but I get no signal and when I try to call someone it just says "Call failed."
The really odd thing is though, when I turn on 3G, I can use 3G (on the carriers website) with out a problem. It cuts of a lot but I dont know if that is coverage or my phone. When I use 3G though, I sometimes get one bar of signal for a couple of seconds which instantly turns of my 3G. If I try to make a call while I have one bar it just says "Call failed" followed by "No service"
I have unlocked via Ultrasn0w but well, I get reception but no signal. So every 20 minutes or so I get one bar of reception which I think is a glitch though since as soon as I try to call someone it just tells me that the call has failed.
But as explained above, for some odd reason, I can not make calls or write text messages but I can use 3G!
I have reflashed my baseband two times already.
Ive just been spending the past days retrying random settings since no one seems to know a solution to it.
Yes, it shows the correct carrier.
More than unlikely dont you think?
3G connection works fine. The phone works in other countries fine?
Its got something to do with the UK and my phone im guessing?
